The Ruined Fort

(English Below)

Tughlaqabad Fort

This Saturday, I visited unexpectedly to the ruined fort located in Southern End of Delhi.

The fort is called Tughlaqabad Fort, stretching over 6 km, built in 1321.

This fort is around 700 years old and was established as the third historic city of Delhi which was later abandoned in 1327. Tughlaqabad Fort was built by Ghiya-ud-din- Tughlag, of the Delhi Sultanate of India.

The fort still consists of remarkably massive stone fortifications that surround the ground plan of the city. Almost every parts of the fort are ruined but several halls, water reservoirs and a long underground passage still remain.

The panoramic view was pretty amazing with green environment and fresh breeze.

Walking around in these ruins and wandering around the remains was the great experiences that I had and it was perfect evening outing.
